Although we try to ensure that participants are fully informed about the assessment process, we have provided additional information here that may be helpful. We pride ourselves on the transparency of the assessment and want to make sure that you know exactly what to expect.

Where will the assessment take place?

In most cases, all questionnaires and activities will be completed remotely, at a location of your choice. All we ask is that you please ensure that you have enough time set aside to complete the relevant questionnaires and have access to an office or room free of distractions. All remote assessments will require that you have a computer with internet access.

If the client prefers that you complete the assessment in a proctored setting, you will be contacted to discuss a date and time, and then given directions to the assessment site.

What types of questionnaires will I be completing?

Hire Insight consultants have developed a series of standard activities and questionnaires designed to uncover your key talents, expertise, intelligence, motivation and development needs in as little time as possible. Typically, this includes the following, which can be completed over a number of sittings:

  1. Structured application form (15 minutes)
  2. Test of job-related abilities and problem-solving skills (15 minutes)
  3. Personality or behavioural styles questionnaire (45 minutes)
  4. Motivation questionnaire (30 minutes) and a
  5. Behaviour-based interview and feedback on your results (60 minutes)

The vast majority of candidates feel nervous before the assessment, which of course is normal. However, even the most anxious candidates typically end up feeling that it was a very worthwhile and enjoyable experience – a chance to learn more about themselves, find out what they enjoy most about work, and reach their true potential.

How can I best prepare for the assessment?

You will not have to prepare for the assessment in any way, other than to make sure that you are well-rested and do not deviate too far from your normal routine. For example, try not to drink too much coffee, as it may make you feel overanxious. If you are sick or otherwise believe that you cannot effectively complete the assessment, please let us know and we will do whatever we can to help.

I’ve heard that these assessments can be tricky. What kinds of surprises do you have in store?

None whatsoever! We make sure that all of our assessment programs are completely open and transparent to candidates. That way, you can be yourself and we can get the most accurate information on your fit for the role. We are just as interested in making good decisions for our clients as we are with ensuring that this is the right job for you. That’s why, where possible, we include a personal feedback session with a consultant who will show you all of your test results and provide insights that will help in your future career.

What happens if I'm unsuccessful?

Unfortunately, there are often many more applicants than positions available at a particular company. This can be very frustrating, especially considering that you've invested so much effort in an extensive assessment of your skills and talents.

That's why our team created a service called Hire Insight Select, which provides top employers with an online shortlist of pre-assessed talent, and presents them with reports that outline individuals' objective assessment results. You benefit by having your assessment results reviewed by many of the top employers in the country, or even around the world, and being considered for many other related positions.

If your assessment shows that you are an excellent problem-solver and have the personality, motivation, and expertise to be highly successful, we will upload your information to our database at www.hireinsightselect.com so that these employers can consider you for potential opportunities. The service keeps your personal information completely private and we will let you know whenever a company expresses interest in interviewing you for a role.
